ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Indonesia Landscape Architecture Student Workshop (ILASW) is an event organized by the Student Council of Landscape Architecture (HIMASKAP) of Bogor Agricultural University, Bogor, Indonesia. Held every two years under the guidance of the Department of Landscape Architecture, the event takes place in Bogor Agricultural University Dramaga Campus, around the Faculty of Agriculture.

Indonesia Landscape Architecture Student Workshop is designed for the Landscape Architecture students to share together their knowledge of the three main Landscape Architecture focuses; which are Landscape Planning, Landscape Design, and Landscape Management.

This year, the selected undergraduate students from any universities in Indonesia and in ASEAN member states (Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Burma (Myanmar), Phillipines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam) majoring in Landscape Architecture will participate in the whole schedule and work in a group.

 Each group will be assisted by a Tutor and a Liaison Officer. The groups will be given a site with its problems to be solved through the planning and designing process. The result of each group will be presented in the final day and assessed by the invited experts.

THEME

The main theme at ILASW 2014 is Sustainable disaster mitigation area of volcano based on the local wisdom. This theme was chosen because Indonesia had many volcanoes in its land. The volcanoes were one of the unique thing in Indonesia, but it would become dangerous if the volcano erupt and causes many damages around it. That's why, the importance of building disaster mitigation area is very likely. Mitigation is an effort to reduce the risk and damage caused by disaster, such as eruption. This effort could be physical infrastructure or upgrading the ability to confront the disaster.

 The development of mitigation area hoped to manage the culture in the area and based on the local wisdom. Area development was built with sustainable effort in mind and kept the local resource around it. The development should be comfortable whether its for human, animal, and plant living there.

To apply you must submit a workshop application form and the application fee.

2. Scan your student card and send it to our email ilasw2014@gmail.com. The email subject line must contain your name and your university/institute (e.g. Nurlita Btari_Bogor Agricultural University)
3. Get Invitation Letter and pay registration fee

REGISTRATION FEE

Extended Deadline: 8 – 15 September 2014

The Workshop fee is Rp 700.000 for local student and US$110 for foreign student. Limited to 40 participants.
